James Rodríguez announces his official retirement from the Colombia National Team

James Rodríguez, the emblematic midfielder and historic figure of Colombian football, has announced this Tuesday his definitive retirement from the national team, closing a cycle full of successes, records, and an unbreakable connection with his country.
At 35 years old, the current Atlético Nacional player used his social media to communicate a decision that marks the end of an era. “After many years, many matches, many joys, and also hard moments, I feel that the time has come to close one of the most important stages of my life: my journey with the Colombia national team,” the midfielder expressed in an emotional message.
A golden trajectory with the tricolor
Rodríguez’s career with the national team is, without a doubt, one of the most prolific in the country’s history. With a total of 131 matches played and 31 goals scored, James established himself as the player with the most appearances wearing the tricolor jersey and the second-highest goalscorer in the history of the Colombian national team.
