UASD and Mivhed consolidate housing plan for the university community
The Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) and the Ministry of Housing, Habitat and Buildings (Mivhed) have taken firm steps toward the realization of an ambitious low-cost housing project. This initiative is specifically designed to benefit the faculty and administrative staff that make up the structure of the state academy.
The rector of the UASD, Jorge Asjana David, held a key meeting with the Minister of Mivhed, Jean Luis Rodríguez, with the objective of coordinating the necessary strategies to ensure that university staff can access their own housing with standards of quality and dignity.
The time has come for teachers and administrative staff who do not yet have their own home to have the possibility of applying for housing with the due dignity and quality that the Mivhed guarantees in its housing projects.

Strategic alliance for university well-being
For his part, Minister Jean Luis Rodríguez reiterated the Government’s commitment to the education sector, noting that the Mivhed will act as a strategic ally for the institution. The official highlighted that this joint effort seeks to promote social mobility and improve the quality of life for those who dedicate their work to higher education in the country.
Also present at the work table were the deputy ministers of Mivhed, Ney Rafael García Rodríguez and Carina Cedano Rijo, along with various university authorities, who evaluated the administrative and logistical steps for the execution of the plan.
Financing facilities
This housing project focuses not only on construction but also on economic viability for the beneficiaries. Recently, university representatives held meetings with Banco de Reservas to define competitive interest rates and favorable credit conditions.
With these actions, the UASD reaffirms its commitment to the social well-being of its community, seeking concrete solutions that allow its collaborators to fulfill the dream of acquiring decent housing through institutional and financial support.
