Ramón Tolentino submits evidence to the Public Prosecutor’s Office in case linked to Edwin Encarnación
Communicator Ramón Tolentino reported that he formalized the submission to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of La Romana of various pieces of evidence collected during his journalistic investigation, related to the incident in which former baseball player Edwin Encarnación and others involved were implicated.
As detailed by Tolentino, the delivery process was carried out after a meeting with magistrates Patricia Martínez and Andrea Familia, assigned to the Gender Violence Department. Subsequently, the authorities channeled the case to the Complaints Department, under the supervision of magistrate Mayelin Rodón, where the evidentiary elements were finally received.
Research transparency
Among the materials provided by the journalist are casings and a projectile, which had been previously exhibited on their platforms. The purpose of this contribution is to allow the authorities to carry out the necessary technical analyses and the relevant information cross-checks with the ongoing judicial files.
Faced with allegations regarding the alleged manipulation or improper withholding of evidence, Tolentino was emphatic in defending his actions and his professional career in the investigative field.
