White Sox Halt Blue Jays’ 10-Game Winning Streak with Brilliant Pitching

CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox stopped the Toronto Blue Jays’ winning streak, defeating them 2-1 on Wednesday. Pitcher Adrian Houser had an outstanding performance, pitching seven solid innings.

Houser (5-2) secured his third consecutive victory. Edgar Quero drove in a run with a double and scored in a two-run fourth inning against Toronto’s starter, Eric Lauer (4-2). With this win, the White Sox prevented the Blue Jays from tying their franchise record.

Houser allowed one run and seven hits, maintaining an ERA of 1.56 throughout his nine starts. The right-hander has given up two earned runs in 26 innings during his four outings at Rate Field.

Grant Taylor managed to get around a Bo Bichette double with two outs in the eighth inning, forcing Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to hit into an out.

Jordan Leasure struck out the first two batters in the ninth inning before Alejandro Kirk singled. Then, the pitcher retired Myles Straw with a fly ball to center field, earning his second save in five opportunities.

Lauer, for his part, struck out seven in four innings, allowing two runs and four hits.

Chicago scored two runs in the fourth inning after Austin Slater hit a single. Quero drove in Slater with a double and scored thanks to a single by Lenyn Sosa, establishing a 2-1 lead for the White Sox.
