Águilas Cibaeñas reveal their coaching staff for the 2026-2027 season
The Águilas Cibaeñas have made official the structure of their coaching staff that will accompany manager Luis “Pipe” Urueta during the upcoming 2026-2027 season of the Dominican Professional Baseball League (LIDOM). With a mix of experience, knowledge of the field, and iconic figures of the organization, the team seeks to consolidate its competitiveness on the diamond.
A luxury staff for the big team
The Aguilas management has opted for continuity and experience to lead their operations on the field. Joel Noboa remains a key piece by repeating in his role as bench coach. On the other hand, the figure of former outfielder Melky Cabrera stands out in the group, assuming a dual responsibility as assistant to the manager and technical guide for the outfielders.
The pitching area presents a renewed approach under the guidance of Yunesky Maya, who assumes the role of pitching coach, with the support of José Zapata as assistant and Julio Valdez in bullpen management. Regarding batting, Ricardo Nanita will be in charge of the offense, supported by Fred Landers.

Focus on development: The Parallel League
Understanding the importance of roster depth, the Cibao team has also defined the staff that will lead the Parallel League. This group has the fundamental mission of polishing the organization’s prospects to ensure long-term success.
The coaching staff structure reflects the Águilas’ commitment to excellence, combining figures with extensive experience with a clear vision for development to win the LIDOM championship.
The management of this development team will be led by Yovanny Cuevas as manager, accompanied by Anthony Domínguez as assistant and Andrés López in pitching. In addition, a specialized support group, composed of Roddy Silverio, Domingo Asencio, Claudio Encarnación, Juan Bautista and Héctor Contreras, will be in charge of the daily batting practice routines.
The Águilas Cibaeñas are ready to begin their journey in the autumn-winter baseball season, with the official start of the tournament scheduled for next October 16th. Alofoke Deportes will closely follow every step of the ‘aguiluchos’ in their quest for the crown.
