Yaguate Crowned Champion of the Pony League 13U Pre-World Cup and Secures its Place in the World Cup
Yaguate, San Cristóbal – The Yaguate team has achieved the feat of being crowned champion of the Pony League 13U Pre-World Cup, winning the Caribbean and Latin American title. This victory secures them a place in the Pony League World Series, which will be held next July in California, United States. The final, an encounter full of emotion, pitted the Yaguate team against the Santiago team, attracting a crowd of fans and baseball followers to the municipality of Yaguate. During the final day, the work of Ely Encarnación, Deputy Director General of Migration; Víctor Ramón Montás, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Production of San Cristóbal; and Mayor José Oviedo, was recognized for their contribution to sports development and their support for the initiatives of Pony Dominicana Baseball. The closing ceremony, held at the restaurant La Chivería, was led by the mayor and president of the organizing committee, José Oviedo, who expressed his gratitude to the institutions, collaborators, and citizens who made the success of the international event possible.In the event, Pony Dominicana Baseball gave special recognition to Professor Eugenio Báez for his leadership and dedication to the development of children’s and youth sports through baseball. The tournament brought together national and international delegations, strengthening the sporting and cultural ties between the participating countries and projecting Yaguate as the venue for important international sporting events. The closing ceremony was attended by the president of the Council of Councilors of Yaguate, Sugeydi Guzmán, along with councilors Justo Rodríguez and Justo Mejía, among other personalities.Professor Eugenio Báez, president of Pony Dominicana Baseball, highlighted the high competitive level of the tournament and valued the effort of athletes, coaches, parents, and organizers.
