Formula 1 driver Lando Norris has stated that he would not consider his 2025 season a failure, even if he doesn’t manage to win the world championship. Norris, who reduced the gap to his McLaren teammate and championship leader, Oscar Piastri, to 15 points after winning the Austrian Grand Prix, is preparing for his home race at Silverstone with the confidence of being a better driver than the previous year, despite some mistakes. The 25-year-old driver started the season as the favorite, but has been surpassed by his teammate, who has won five Grand Prix, compared to Norris’ three. The competition seems to be a two-horse race, with Max Verstappen 46 points ahead of Norris.

I would say that I didn’t succeed in what was my goal, but I don’t think it can be called a failure because I don’t think I failed at anything.

Norris commented that, although he did not achieve his goal, he does not consider it a failure, as he believes he simply has not reached the level he expected at certain times. The driver attributes the errors, both in qualifying and in the races, to the pressure he puts on himself.

It’s more the desire, almost too much internal desire to want to do a good job every weekend, to perform for the team. I want to perform for the team and I want to win. I put too much pressure on myself, but I understand it.

Regarding the race at Silverstone, Norris believes that the presence of his fans and the festive atmosphere can positively distract him, allowing him to enjoy the moment more.
