SANTO DOMINGO – The Dominican selection finished its preparation stage in national territory with a vibrant 4-4 tie against the Detroit Tigers, in a match where Juan Soto was once again the main offensive figure.
This game, held at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium, served as a farewell for the Dominican team before their trip to Miami, where they will face Nicaragua this Friday in the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
Soto: The center of the Dominican offense
Juan Soto delighted the fans once again with his performance. He hit a triple that drove in two runs and a solo home run, generating enthusiasm among the attendees who filled the stadium.
The gardener has maintained an excellent offensive level during the exhibition series, consolidating his position as a fundamental pillar in the lineup.
The team led by Albert Pujols connected 13 hits, but left 10 runners on base and underperformed with men in scoring position, batting only 2 for 12. This prevented securing the victory despite the good offensive performance at several moments of the game.

In the ninth inning, the Americans reacted and went ahead 4-3. In their last offensive opportunity, the home team managed to tie the game thanks to a single by Carlos Santana, avoiding defeat before their departure.
With the exhibition series concluded, the Dominican team heads to Miami with the aim of finalizing details and focusing on their debut in the World Baseball Classic, where they will seek to start their participation strongly.
