Antonio Brown Faces Attempted Murder Charges

Miami, Florida – Former NFL player Antonio Brown is at the center of a new legal controversy. He has been formally charged with attempted second-degree murder, following a shooting that occurred on May 16 during an amateur boxing event in Miami.

According to an arrest warrant issued this Thursday, Brown, 36, allegedly took a firearm and shot Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu. The incident, which occurred after a fight between the two, was partially captured on video by attendees of the event.

The images show Brown with a weapon in his hand moments before the shots. One of the bullets grazed Nantambu’s neck, according to reports.

Brown could face up to 15 years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted.

This incident adds to a series of legal problems that have marked the life of the former receiver. Previously, Brown has faced accusations of assault, domestic violence, and public altercations.

A career highlight was his abrupt exit from a game in 2021, when he was playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In his social media, Brown claimed to have been “attacked by several people who tried to steal his jewelry”.

During his NFL career, Antonio Brown accumulated impressive statistics: 928 receptions, 12,291 yards, and 88 touchdowns. He was selected seven times for the Pro Bowl and won Super Bowl LV with the Buccaneers.

The case is still ongoing, and an initial hearing is expected in the coming days.
