Vince McMahon Involved in Car Accident in Connecticut
Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon was involved in a traffic accident on a Connecticut highway, resulting in significant damage to his Bentley and two other vehicles. The incident occurred hours before the death of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan was announced. McMahon was cited for reckless driving and following too closely, according to a state police report. The accident took place Thursday morning on the Merritt Parkway in Westport. Fortunately, there were no injuries. He was released on a $500 bond and ordered to appear in Stamford Superior Court on August 26. The images captured by Barbara Doran, one of the people involved in the accident, revealed the considerable damage suffered by the front of McMahon’s 2024 Bentley Continental GT Speed, which was transported on a tow truck in Westport. The photos also showed damage to the rear of Doran’s BMW 430. The police report indicates that McMahon was driving north on the highway, also known as Route 15, when he rear-ended the BMW, then crashed into a wooden barrier. A vehicle traveling south hit debris from the accident that flew over the barrier. According to the police, there were no passengers in any of the vehicles and all three drivers were wearing seatbelts. McMahon’s car airbags deployed, but Doran’s did not.
Doran commented that a state police officer informed him that the other driver was McMahon, whom he did not know well. After the accident, they both talked.I was driving in the right lane and, suddenly, boom! I was hit from behind and catapulted forward and you can see the tire marks where I was desperately trying to stay on the road.

McMahon stepped down as WWE CEO in 2022 amid a company investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct. He also resigned as executive chairman of the board of directors of TKO Group Holdings, WWE’s parent company, last year, a day after a former WWE employee filed a lawsuit against him for sexual assault. McMahon has denied the allegations. The lawsuit is still pending. McMahon bought what was then the World Wrestling Federation in 1982 and transformed it from a regional wrestling company into a global phenomenon. In addition to running the company with his wife, Linda, who is now the U.S. Secretary of Education, he also performed at WWE events as himself. He simply, you know, expressed his concern, was glad I was okay and all that. And I thanked him for his concern.
