WWE Arrives at ESPN: A New Chapter in Sports Wrestling
A strategic agreement between World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and ESPN will mark a milestone in the world of sports entertainment. Starting in 2026, WWE’s flagship events, including WrestleMania, will be broadcast exclusively on ESPN’s new direct-to-consumer streaming platform. This agreement, announced on Wednesday, covers two-night events like WrestleMania and SummerSlam, as well as other premium live WWE events, such as Royal Rumble, Survivor Series, and Money in the Bank. WWE will be in charge of producing the events for ESPN platforms, which will become the exclusive home of these shows in the United States.In addition, the agreement includes the opportunity for ESPN to broadcast the pre- and post-show programs for WWE events for all live premium events. ESPN’s streaming service will launch on August 21st with a price of $29.99 per month and will keep the name of the linear network: ESPN. This direct-to-consumer service will allow users to access the seven national linear ESPN channels, in addition to ESPN on ABC and several other streaming options.
