Las Vegas Aces Secure Their Third WNBA Title
The Las Vegas Aces, led by A’ja Wilson, solidified their dominance in the WNBA by securing their third championship in four seasons. This triumph came after sweeping the Phoenix Mercury in the 2025 WNBA Finals.
The attention of bettors is already focused on the 2026 season, with the expectation of a new title contender and a possible new MVP.Favorites for the 2026 Season
The Minnesota Lynx are positioned as the main favorites to win the WNBA championship in 2026, with initial odds of +225 on ESPN BET. Although other bookmakers also favor the team led by Napheesa Collier, they offer higher odds, reaching up to +350 on FanDuel.
However, not all major sportsbooks see Minnesota, which fell to Phoenix in the 2025 semifinals, as the next champion. BetMGM places the Aces as favorites for the 2026 title with odds of +300, while the Lynx have the third-best position with +400. Las Vegas remains among the favorites at other sportsbooks.
The Indiana Fever are also in a prominent position, tied with the Aces in second place with odds of +250 on ESPN BET. Despite key injuries to Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham, among others, Indiana had an unexpected run to the WNBA semifinals, competing closely with Las Vegas in five games.
The New York Liberty, WNBA champions in 2024, are also on the list of favorites, although their odds vary considerably between different bookmakers, ranging from +330 to +700.
The Phoenix Mercury, runners-up this season, are closely following the Liberty in most of the favorites lists, with odds ranging between +700 and +1100.
The highest odds correspond to the expansion teams, Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo, both with odds of 250-1 for the 2026 title on ESPN BET. Although a championship for either of these franchises in their first WNBA season could be ambitious, the Golden State Valkyries (+6000) showed that there is value in betting on expansion teams.
