Aari McDonald will not play anymore in the Unrivaled season due to a right lower extremity injury, according to the 3×3 basketball league announced on Monday. McDonald had little participation this season, only playing one game with the Breeze team on Thursday. This occurred after recovering from a foot injury suffered during the WNBA season with the Indiana Fever. In August, the Fever ruled out McDonald for the WNBA season due to a fracture in her right foot. In 20 games, she averaged 9.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 4.7 assists.
Before his game at Unrivaled on Thursday, McDonald posted on social media:
McDonald was expected to be a key player for the Breeze, but her absence leaves the team without a primary backup ball handler behind Paige Bueckers.Today is the first time I’ve played in almost 5 months.
