Sabalenka Extends Her Dominance in Wuhan and Advances to Semifinals

Tennis player Aryna Sabalenka continues her winning streak in Wuhan, China, by securing her place in the semi-finals of the WTA 1000 tournament.

Sabalenka, current US Open champion, achieved her 20th consecutive victory in Wuhan after defeating Elena Rybakina with a score of 6-3 and 6-3.

The world number one demonstrated her superiority by breaking Rybakina’s serve on three occasions during the match, which lasted 1 hour and 25 minutes. At the end of the match, Sabalenka greeted and blew kisses to the fans.

This victory marks the eleventh time this season that Sabalenka has reached the semifinals.

Coco Gauff Secures Her Spot in the Semifinals Too

Coco Gauff, seeded number 3, also comfortably advanced to the semifinals, achieving a 6-3 and 6-0 victory over Laura Siegemund.

Gauff will seek her place in the final facing Iga Swiatek or Jasmine Paolini, who faced each other in a later match.

Jessica Pegula Fights for Semifinals Spot

Jessica Pegula, seeded number 6, also secured her place in the semifinals, after an intense match that extended to a third set. Pegula defeated Katerina Siniakova with scores of 2-6, 6-0 and 6-3.

Pegula comes from obtaining victories against Ekaterina Alexandrova and Hailey Baptiste.
