The Williams Sisters Enter the Podcast World

Serena and Venus Williams, legends of world tennis, venture into the world of podcasting. The sisters, with an impressive career in the sport, have decided to share their experiences and perspectives through a new project in audio format. Serena, who ended her professional career at the 2022 US Open, and Venus, still active on the circuit and a participant in the same tournament in singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles, will launch their podcast this Wednesday on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. The podcast, titled “Stockton Street”, pays homage to the street where they grew up in Compton, California. It will be broadcast every two weeks, on Wednesdays, and will be available on the aforementioned platform. The premiere episode was recorded at Arthur Ashe Stadium, the main stadium of the US Open, the stage where Serena won six of her 23 Grand Slam singles titles and Venus obtained two of her seven. Venus, at 45 years old, recently became the oldest singles player to compete at the US Open since 1981. Her return to the circuit came in July, after a 16-month absence.
