Lleyton Hewitt and Son Cruz Fall in Quarterfinals at Sydney Challenger
The comeback of Lleyton Hewitt, two-time Grand Slam champion, alongside his son Cruz in the New South Wales Challenger doubles tournament, culminated this Thursday with a defeat in the quarterfinals.
Hewitt, who was world number 1 and retired from individual tennis in 2016, teamed up with his 16-year-old son, Cruz. In the previous match, they achieved a resounding victory.
The duo Hewitt defeated Hayden Jones and Pavle Marinkov with a score of 6-1, 6-0 on Wednesday.
However, the father-son team fell to Dane Sweeny and Calum Puttergill in the quarterfinals, with a score of 7-5, 6-4.
Lleyton Hewitt currently serves as the captain of the Australian Davis Cup team. Cruz Hewitt is one of the three children Hewitt has with his wife, former actress Bec Hewitt.
