New York – The tennis player favored by TikTok users could be the next influencer on the platform. The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) announced a strategic alliance with TikTok. The goal is to promote tennis-related content and increase interaction on the platform.

Association Goals

This collaboration has two main purposes. One of them is to encourage player participation, helping them grow on the platform and offering fans exclusive “behind-the-scenes” access to the world of tennis. The second goal is the creation of the “Tennis Creators Network”. This initiative will support content creators, not athletes, in the production of content for TikTok during ATP circuit events.

This strategic collaboration with TikTok is based on current trends among our audience, positions the ATP at the forefront of the intersection between culture and sport, and creates content that is easy to discover for both players and tournaments.

Andrew Walker, ATP Senior Vice President of Brand and MarketingCurrently, only 20 of the top 100 ATP players have a presence on TikTok. Some of them, like Carlos Alcaraz, with 1.1 million followers, Novak Djokovic, with 666,000, and Ben Shelton, with 448,000, have achieved great popularity. These tennis players share varied content, from images of the tournaments to moments of their daily lives. The ATP’s own TikTok account has almost 600,000 followers. This alliance recognizes a growing trend in sports media: authentic, behind-the-scenes content created by athletes. Its popularity and virality are increasing, manifesting on various platforms. ATP seeks to leverage this boom in “behind-the-scenes” content with this partnership. Encourages more players to share their stories, further igniting the cultural movement of tennis on TikTok.
