The rising Wrexham has shown an ambitious interest in midfielder Christian Eriksen, former Manchester United player, according to sources close to the player. Eriksen, a free agent this summer and with an outstanding career in the Premier League, has been one of the most creative footballers of the last decade. The Danish player, with 144 international matches, has accumulated more than 300 combined appearances for Tottenham Hotspur, Brentford, and, most recently, Manchester United. A transfer to Wrexham would represent an unprecedented move for the club, which is preparing for its first season in the second division of English football, under the direction of its owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
Eriksen’s agent, Martin Schoots, commented that Wrexham is a “very impressive project”, but added that the player’s priorities are focused on other types of leagues.Christian still wants to play in a top-level competition and wishes to remain in Western Europe.
