Liverpool manager Arne Slot has expressed his frustration at the bad luck that, according to him, has plagued the team this season, even affecting the new signings. An example of this situation is the recent injury of Jérémy Jacquet, who suffered a shoulder injury before joining the club. Liverpool agreed a £60 million transfer to sign Jacquet from Rennes, but the central defender may need surgery on his shoulder after getting injured playing for the French team.
“It seems so, that’s for sure,” Slot declared when asked if Liverpool has had bad luck this season.

Slot also mentioned the impact of not securing the Champions League on the club’s planning, recalling his previous experience and the influence of the Europa League. Liverpool’s coach concluded by saying that this has been the toughest season of his career “by far”, highlighting the unusual number of defeats and draws he has experienced this season.“If we don’t have Champions League football, it has definitely not been an acceptable season,” he stated.
