Liverpool manager Arne Slot has expressed his frustration at the bad luck that, according to him, has plagued the team this season, even affecting the new signings. An example of this situation is the recent injury of Jérémy Jacquet, who suffered a shoulder injury before joining the club. Liverpool agreed a £60 million transfer to sign Jacquet from Rennes, but the central defender may need surgery on his shoulder after getting injured playing for the French team.

“It seems so, that’s for sure,” Slot declared when asked if Liverpool has had bad luck this season.

Slot added that even the new signings are affected by injuries, suggesting a streak of bad luck. The coach also acknowledged that this has been the most difficult season of his career and admitted that not qualifying for the Champions League could affect Liverpool’s transfer operations in the summer.

“If we don’t have Champions League football, it has definitely not been an acceptable season,” he stated.
