Mohamed Salah: “This is my best chance to win the Ballon d’Or”
Liverpool’s star forward, Mohamed Salah, has expressed his confidence that this season represents his “best opportunity” to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or. His exceptional performance has been key for Arne Slot’s team to secure the Premier League title.
Salah has had an impressive season, accumulating 28 goals and 18 assists in the top tier of English football. Currently, he leads the race for the Golden Boot, solidifying his position as one of the most outstanding footballers of the moment.
The 32-year-old player, who signed a two-year contract extension with Liverpool in April, is among the favorites to win the Ballon d’Or this year. The award ceremony will be held in Paris on September 22.
I’ve never had a season like this and I’ve won big trophies, so I’d say this is my best chance to get it now that I’m at the club because it’s been a crazy year, a crazy season with a trophy. It’s given me a good opportunity.

If Salah wins the award, he will have to overcome competition from figures such as Lamine Yamal of Barcelona and Ousmane Dembélé of Paris Saint-Germain, who have also been fundamental in their teams winning league titles.
In a press conference, coach Slot commented on Salah’s statements:
It’s completely true. He’s had very good seasons at Liverpool, but this one probably stands out in terms of numbers and, if you add to that that we also won the league, it will probably give him a good opportunity.

Slot added that, although Salah is not the only player with a great season, this could be his best opportunity. “If not, he will try to push himself even harder next season. That’s what I always know with Mo. In terms of individual performance, [to improve] would be almost impossible, although you never say something is impossible for Mo because he has shown that he can always elevate his game even further.”
