Mohamed Salah Makes History: First PFA Awards Treble

The Liverpool star striker, Mohamed Salah, has made history in football by becoming the first player to win the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Player of the Year award for the third time. This unprecedented achievement puts him above legends like Cristiano Ronaldo, Thierry Henry, and Gareth Bale, who previously shared the record with two awards. Salah, who had already been recognized with this prestigious award in 2018 and 2022, surpassed a list of high-caliber nominees, including his Liverpool teammate, Alexis Mac Allister, as well as Cole Palmer from Chelsea, Bruno Fernandes from Manchester United, Declan Rice from Arsenal, and Alexander Isak from Newcastle. The awards ceremony took place in Manchester, where Salah received the trophy. The Egyptian footballer was recognized by his colleagues after an exceptional season in which he scored 29 goals, contributing significantly to Liverpool’s successful campaign in the Premier League.
