Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso has revealed that the club is seriously considering the possibility of adding new players to its squad for next season. This statement comes after the resounding 4-0 defeat against Paris-Saint Germain in the Club World Cup semi-final.“We haven’t talked about it during the Club World Cup, but from now on we are open to making improvements. We are always looking to improve and there is room for it,” Alonso stated.

Luka Modrić’s illustrious career at Real Madrid has come to an end. Despite the painful defeat, the Croatian midfielder’s legacy transcends a single match. Modrić, winner of the Ballon d’Or in 2018 and the most decorated player of the Spanish club, will join AC Milan after playing his last match with Madrid at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
