Pogba Signs for Monaco: Return of the World Champion to French Football
The football star, Paul Pogba, is about to return to competitive action. The midfielder has completed his transfer to Monaco, a Ligue 1 team, marking the end of a two-year absence. A source revealed that Pogba, who signed a two-year contract with Monaco, rejected a lucrative offer from a team in the Saudi Pro League. The world champion’s last official match was in September 2023, playing for Juventus. Pogba was sanctioned by an Italian anti-doping tribunal with a four-year suspension after testing positive for elevated testosterone levels. Although the sanction was reduced to 18 months after a successful appeal, his contract with Juventus was mutually terminated in November 2024. Since then, Pogba was without a team. At 32 years old, Pogba has previously been linked with MLS and Saudi Pro League teams, but will now return to action in his home country. Pogba was trained at the Le Havre academy, but has never played competitively in France. His professional career has been divided between Manchester United and Juventus.
