Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique paid an emotional tribute to his late daughter, Xana, after winning the Champions League final on Saturday. He did so by wearing a shirt that showed them planting a club flag together.

Luis Enrique had already won the Champions League, achieving the treble with Barcelona in 2015. On that occasion, Xana, who was then five years old, planted a large Barça flag on the field.

Xana passed away in August 2019, at the age of nine, after a five-month battle against bone cancer.

On Saturday in Munich, Germany, after his PSG team starred in the most uneven Champions League final in history with a 5-0 victory over Inter Milan, Luis Enrique changed his shirt to honor that moment.

I have an incredible photo of her planting a Barcelona flag on the field.

In January, the coach stated: “I want to be able to do the same with a PSG flag. My daughter will not be there in a physical sense, but she will be spiritually, and that is very important to me.”

After the trophy presentation ceremony, the fans unfurled a tifo depicting Luis Enrique planting a PSG flag next to Xana.
