Luis Díaz close to leaving Liverpool: Advanced negotiations with Bayern Munich

Sources close to Alofoke Deportes reveal that Liverpool and Bayern Munich are in advanced talks for the transfer of winger Luis Díaz. Both parties are reportedly close to agreeing on a fee of £65.5 million (88 million dollars) including bonuses. Díaz did not participate in Liverpool’s friendly defeat against AC Milan on Saturday, due to speculation about his possible departure from Anfield this summer. A source confirmed to Alofoke Deportes that the Colombian international is determined to leave Liverpool in this transfer window.

There are many rumors about him lately and I can’t get into that. He is training very well with us, but we have decided for now not to line him up yet.

Arne Slot, Liverpool coach
Luis Díaz podría dejar el Liverpool este verano.
Liverpool coach Arne Slot confirmed that he has spoken with Díaz about the situation. “I’m used to talking to most of my players regularly,” Slot commented. “As I said, Lucho Díaz is training very well and we have decided that he will not play in the matches at this time. I can’t comment much more on that.” When asked if Díaz wants to leave Liverpool, Slot replied: “That’s not the person to ask, me.” During the entire summer there has been great interest in the player, with Liverpool previously rejecting offers from both Barcelona and Bayern, insisting that the player was not available to be transferred. The club rejected a 67.5 million euro offer from Bayern earlier this month. Díaz had the most productive season of his career at Liverpool last season, scoring 17 goals in all competitions and helping Slot’s team win the Premier League title. The forward arrived at the club from FC Porto in January 2022, and his contract at Anfield expires in 2027. His imminent departure will help balance Liverpool’s spending this summer, with the Premier League champion spending around £290 million on Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili and Hugo Ekitike.
