Barcelona’s offer to sign Liverpool winger Luis Díaz has been rejected, according to sources close to the club.

The 28-year-old Colombian player had become a priority target for the Catalan team, which is also considering the possibility of signing Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford.

However, Liverpool has rejected the Spanish club’s proposal and has made it clear that it has no intention of letting go of the Colombian international.

Díaz, signed by Liverpool in January 2022 from FC Porto for £37.5 million ($50.9 million), was a key player in Liverpool’s success in the Premier League this season, with 13 goals, only surpassed by Mohamed Salah.

Although Liverpool is expected to sell Darwin Núñez this summer, coach Arne Slot wants to keep Díaz in his squad and the club has no pressure to listen to offers for the player.

Liverpool continues to lead the race for Bayer Leverkusen forward Florian Wirtz, who is currently focused with the German national team in the UEFA Nations League.

Clubs can complete transfers before the June 10 deadline.
