Liverpool Seeks to Bolster Defense with Marc Guéhi
Liverpool has submitted a formal offer to sign defender Marc Guéhi, currently at Crystal Palace. A source revealed that the Premier League team’s proposal amounts to 35 million pounds (approximately 47.2 million dollars). So far, the Premier League champions have not received a response to their offer.
It is understood that Guehi is interested in the transfer, considering that his contract is due to expire next summer. If the agreement is finalized, the 25-year-old English international would join a solid defensive line at Anfield, made up of Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konaté, Joe Gomez and Giovanni Leoni. In a press conference on Friday, Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner commented on Guéhi’s future, stating that it is almost impossible to find a suitable replacement at this time. Glasner highlighted the importance of Guéhi in the team’s defense, emphasizing his role as captain, English international, and his experience. From my point of view, it’s Friday and the transfer market closes on Monday, he has to stay.
