Napoli is one of the teams interested in the Uruguayan international. Liverpool rejected a 67.5 million euro offer from Bayern Munich for forward Luis Díaz last Tuesday. Although they haven’t yet submitted a formal offer for Isak, the Reds have contacted Newcastle to assess his availability, as they have done with other attacking targets.

Newcastle’s stance so far is that they are not willing to let the Swedish international go, who has scored 62 goals in 102 appearances for the club, this summer. Liverpool has already broken its transfer record to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz in a deal that could rise to £116 million. Newcastle is likely to demand a higher fee to allow Isak to leave this summer. Sources also report that Newcastle is working on a deal to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, with the intention of him playing alongside Isak in attack. Liverpool have also been linked with the player, but it is understood that they are not convinced by the 23-year-old player, and Newcastle are expected to improve their offer to Frankfurt in the coming days.
