Alexander Isak Reveals His Desire to Leave Newcastle United

Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak broke the silence about his future at the club, expressing his desire to leave this summer. Through a social media post on Tuesday, Isak stated that promises have been broken and that he has lost confidence in the organization.

I have remained silent for a long time while others spoke. That silence has allowed people to impose their own version of events, even though they know it does not reflect what was really said and agreed behind closed doors.

Isak went on to say that the promises were made and that the club had known his position for a long time, calling it misleading to now act as if these problems were recent. “When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship cannot continue. That’s where I am now, and that’s why the change is best for everyone, not just for me,” he added. The Swedish striker, who scored 27 goals in 42 games for the Magpies last season, did not attend the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) awards gala, despite having been included in the team of the year. The absence of Isak from the ceremony comes amid speculation about his future at Newcastle, especially with Liverpool’s interest.

The club values Isak at 150 million pounds and would only consider his departure if a replacement is secured. Newcastle also expressed their disappointment at not being able to sign Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Sesko, who chose to join Manchester United. In its response, Newcastle stated that Isak has a contract and that no member of the club committed to letting him leave this summer. The club added that it will always consider the best interests of Newcastle United and its fans in all decisions. In Isak’s post, he mentioned his pride at being included in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year and thanked his teammates and everyone at Newcastle United for their support. He justified his absence from the ceremony due to the current situation, feeling it was not appropriate to be there. Newcastle United will play their next match against Liverpool at St James’ Park on Monday.
