Inter Milan seeks to keep Simone Inzaghi as their coach, according to club president Giuseppe Marotta. Despite the recent 5-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final, the management plans to start talks with the coach.
Inzaghi’s contract with Inter expires in June of next year. Italian media speculate about a possible departure this very month, before the Club World Cup in the United States.
Marotta assured that the defeat will not influence the decision. “Inzaghi has a contract for one more year and we had already decided to meet with him this week,” he stated. “Almost all the merit of this positive cycle is thanks to his professionalism and skills. If he wants to continue, we are happy.”
Marotta congratulated PSG on their victory and acknowledged the superiority of the Parisian team. “Let’s quickly forget and look to the next one, with the new start of the Club World Cup. We will represent Italy along with Juventus,” he added. We will meet with the coach because this club does not usually let a coach enter the last year of his contract. There is no revolution underway. We will meet to hear what he has to say, I repeat, for our part, we are very proud and honored to continue with him.
