Marc Guéhi’s Future at Crystal Palace: Uncertainty on the Horizon
The situation of Marc Guéhi at Crystal Palace is uncertain, according to club president Steve Parish and coach Oliver Glasner. Both have avoided assuring the defender’s continuity in the team. The London football club, Palace, would be expecting a figure close to 30 million pounds sterling (approximately 41 million dollars) plus 5 million in add-ons for the player. Liverpool, for its part, seeks to reinforce its defense after the departure of Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen and the recovery of Joe Gomez from a minor injury. Parish addressed Guéhi’s situation after Palace’s 1-0 victory over Fredrikstad FK in the first leg of the UEFA Conference League qualifier. If Marc Guehi wants to sign a contract, he can stay. If not, we will have to consider it. It’s a difficult situation, everyone has to sell players to comply with the rules. Players leaving for free is not ideal. That is a situation we will have to analyze in the coming days.
Steve Parish, Chairman of Crystal Palace

Glasner’s statements come at a time when star midfielder Eberechi Eze is expected to complete his transfer to Arsenal for £67.5 million ($91 million). The Palace coach confirmed that Eze will not play for the London club again. We arrived very, very late to find replacements. I think we could have behaved much better. It’s not the best way to start the season. I think we are below the limit. If Marc [Guehi] leaves, maybe I’ll try my boots because I was a central defender. We have to act. It is the future of Crystal Palace and we need to add players.
Oliver Glasner, Crystal Palace Coach
I have to apologize to all of you because I didn’t tell the truth yesterday. I thought he would play… he called me and said he didn’t feel well. You have to ask him [why], maybe in a few days. No [I don’t think he will play for the club again].
