Grealish confesses: Off-field partying didn't help his City exit
Jack Grealish has stated that his off-field activities were not the main reason he left Manchester City last summer, although he admitted that they “didn’t help”. Grealish joined Everton on loan for a season and quickly regained his best form, providing four assists in his first five Premier League matches. This comes after a difficult season for the English international, who had fallen out of favor with City coach Pep Guardiola. Speaking to Sky Sports, Grealish revealed that his main reason for leaving the Etihad was his desire to “feel loved” again.

People say ‘he likes to go out, he likes to party’, and yes, I do. I want to be able to live my life and enjoy it, but obviously there’s a time and a place to do it,” Grealish said.

“Sometimes, to be honest, I probably haven’t chosen the right moments. At City, I didn’t help myself sometimes, I’ll say it openly, but I don’t think it was all due to that. “I am at my best when I feel loved,” he added. “You know, I’m quite vulnerable off the field and I wanted to go somewhere to feel love again and just wake up with a smile on my face and want to play again. Grealish is in action when Everton face West Ham in the Premier League at their new stadium on Monday night.
