Gotham FC Crowned NWSL Champion in an Epic Final
Gotham FC won the NWSL championship on Saturday, after defeating the Washington Spirit with a score of 1-0. The match, played in front of a crowd of 18,000 fans at PayPal Park, witnessed a duel full of emotion and strategy. The decisive goal came in the 80th minute, thanks to Rose Lavelle, who was named the Most Valuable Player of the match. The assist came from Bruninha, who sent a precise cross to the edge of the area, facilitating Lavelle’s winning shot.This triumph marks Gotham’s second title in three years under the direction of Juan Carlos Amorós, becoming the first team classified in eighth position to win the championship. The road to victory included the elimination of the Kansas City Current and the Orlando Pride.
