Gadi Kinda, Former Sporting Kansas City Player, Passes Away

The football world mourns the loss of Gadi Kinda, former midfielder for Sporting Kansas City, as announced by his club, Maccabi Haifa FC, this Tuesday. Kinda was 31 years old.

Two weeks ago, Maccabi Haifa reported that Kinda was hospitalized, facing “a complex medical battle in recent weeks”.

The Israeli international played his last match with Maccabi Haifa on March 29.

On May 10, Sporting Kansas City players posed with the Kinda jersey before the match against the Portland Timbers.

Sporting Kansas City expressed their sorrow on social media, writing: “We are deeply saddened by the passing of former Sporting KC midfielder Gadi Kinda. Our hearts go out to Gadi’s family, his friends, teammates, and all who knew him.”

Kinda scored 14 goals in 64 MLS matches (48 as a starter) with Sporting Kansas City (2020-23).

MLS also issued a statement: “During his four seasons with Kansas City from 2020 to 2023, Gadi was a fan favorite for his outstanding play on the field, his passion for the sport, and his spirit of kindness and generosity towards all those around him. We extend our deepest condolences to Gadi’s family, friends, fans, and everyone at Sporting Kansas City.”
