Cole Palmer Could Return Sooner Than Expected, But Won’t Play Against Arsenal

Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca has shared updates on Cole Palmer’s situation. Although the player is expected to recover sooner than expected, his participation in the next Premier League match against Arsenal is still uncertain. Palmer, who suffered a groin injury in September, fractured a toe in a domestic accident. This has kept him off the field, missing the Champions League match against Barcelona and the match against Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. Maresca was optimistic about Palmer’s recovery, mentioning that the club has designed a special boot to aid in his recovery.

We don’t know when, but it will surely be soon. He’s already on the field, he’s already touching the ball and the feeling is good.

The coach added that, for the moment, he doesn’t think Palmer can play against Arsenal.

In Palmer’s absence, Estêvão could have the opportunity to shine. The young Brazilian has been compared to Lamine Yamal, from Barcelona, after a promising start to his career at Chelsea. Maresca has downplayed these comparisons, highlighting the importance of Estêvão enjoying and focusing on his own development.

The most important thing for Estêvão is that he fully enjoys himself, that he is happy, and that he doesn’t think about being better than this or that player, but only about himself and trying to be better than himself day by day, trying to work hard, improve and surely he will be a top player for this club.

Maresca also highlighted the high level of Estêvão, who is already part of Brazil’s starting eleven. The coach considers it a pleasure for the fans to watch young talents like Estêvão, Lamine Yamal and Pedri play.
