Giorgio Chiellini Joins LAFC Ownership Group
The legend of Italian football and former Juventus player, Giorgio Chiellini, has formalized his incorporation into the group of LAFC owners, as announced by the MLS club this Tuesday. Chiellini, who ended his playing career at LAFC, retiring at the end of 2023, will now continue his link with the club from a new perspective. Joining the LAFC ownership group is a great honor for me. When I arrived here three years ago as a player, I immediately felt that there was something special about this club. It is an ambitious organization, built by extraordinary people and supported by a community that truly makes you feel at home. Chiellini expressed his desire to become an owner last year, and now he is proud to continue this journey, providing his support to a project in which he deeply believes.
Chiellini, with 117 appearances for the Italian national team, captained the team that won the Euro 2020. Most of his club career was spent at Juventus, where he was a key player in winning nine consecutive Serie A titles. With LAFC, Chiellini reached two consecutive MLS Cup finals, contributing to the club winning its first championship in 2022.We are grateful to have the opportunity for Giorgio to continue his legacy with LAFC as a member of our ownership group. Giorgio has always brought tremendous leadership, professionalism, and character wherever he goes, and his values align perfectly with the long-term vision we have for LAFC. We are grateful to have Giorgio as our friend and now partner.
