Barcelona Secures Roony Bardghji, Young Football Promise

Barcelona has finalized the incorporation of FC Copenhagen winger Roony Bardghji for an initial sum close to 2 million euros. The official announcement was made this Monday, marking a significant move in the transfer market. Bardghji has signed a contract that extends until 2029, which includes bonuses based on his performance. In addition, Copenhagen will retain a percentage of any future transfer of the player. The reason behind the relatively low fee agreed with Barça is because Bardghji’s contract with the Danish team was scheduled to expire in December.

The 19-year-old player is expected to participate in the pre-season with the first team under the direction of Hansi Flick, and his inclusion in the club’s tour of Asia at the end of this month is being considered. Subsequently, a final decision will be made about his placement for next season. Club sources indicate that Barcelona sees Bardghji as a future investment, although it is not ruled out that he could have an immediate impact. The possibility of him playing minutes with the club’s reserve team, which competes in the fourth division of Spanish football, has not been ruled out.
Roony Bardghji
Roony Bardghji has completed his transfer to Barcelona after 4 years at Copenhagen. There has also been speculation about the interest of several LaLiga teams in obtaining the young player on loan. Bardghji, born in Kuwait to Syrian parents and with Swedish nationality, burst onto the football scene two years ago in the Champions League, but his progress was affected by an anterior cruciate ligament injury. In the 2023-24 season, he scored 11 goals, including one in Copenhagen’s surprising victory over Manchester United in Europe, before suffering the injury in May 2024. After 10 months of inactivity, he returned to action in March of this year and participated in six matches of the Danish Superliga before the end of the season.
