Álex Baena Strengthens Atlético de Madrid for 50 Million Euros
Atlético de Madrid has finalized the incorporation of Spanish midfielder Álex Baena, in a deal worth around 50 million euros. The news has been confirmed after the financial agreement reached with Villarreal.
Baena, 23 years old, has signed a five-year contract with Atletico, valid until 2030, after passing the medical tests this morning.Álex Baena will become an Atlético de Madrid player.The arrival of Baena joins that of Matteo Ruggeri, from Atalanta. The next on the list of signings is Johnny Cardoso, an American midfielder from Real Betis.
After these three additions, Atlético de Madrid will seek to reinforce their defense, with Cristian Romero, captain of Tottenham, as the main objective.
Atlético’s coach, Diego Simeone, is interested in Romero and is pushing for his transfer to Spain, although there is still no agreement between the clubs.
