American forward Alyssa Thompson, from Angel City FC of the NWSL, has signed with Chelsea, marking a significant reinforcement for the London team. This transfer promises to strengthen the “Blues” attack with a young and talented player.The initial agreement between Chelsea and Angel City FC is estimated at around $1.3 million (1 million pounds sterling). With potential bonuses, the total value of the transfer could rise to almost $2 million (1.5 million pounds sterling).
Thompson’s incorporation comes at a key moment for Chelsea, especially after the injury of Mayra Ramírez, who will be out of the courts until 2026. The club showed great interest in the player, accelerating her signing. Alyssa Thompson joins other stars from the United States women’s national team who are already part of the London club, such as Catarina Macario and Naomi Girma.
Since her arrival at Angel City FC, Thompson has played 62 matches, scoring 15 goals in the NWSL. This season, she has scored six goals in 16 appearances.
