English rugby player Rosie Galligan has expressed her amazement at the support received during the early stages of the Women’s Rugby World Cup. The athlete has described the experience as “magical”. The “Red Roses” have achieved convincing victories against the United States and Samoa, in front of a large crowd in Sunderland and Northampton, respectively, giving a great start to their participation in the tournament. Their third and final group stage match against Australia in Brighton is also close to selling out. Galligan has commented that he has never experienced a reception like this.

“This has been magical. I think Sunderland, the way we were walking down the street and had fans everywhere, walking towards the stadium, the fireworks when you got off the bus, I really felt something I’ve never experienced before,” Galligan commented.
