The British & Irish Lions Achieve a Convincing Victory Over the Queensland Reds
British & Irish Lions coach Andy Farrell expressed his satisfaction with the way his team settled after conceding two early tries, before defeating the Queensland Reds 52-12 in Brisbane on Wednesday.
Just like against the Western Force in Perth on Saturday, the tourists saw their line breached in the first quarter before dominating the match and increasing the score.
“Impressive at times,” Farrell said. “We played some nice rugby after we settled. I think in the first 10 minutes, the Reds started pretty well and we had a few errors one after the other.”
Farrell also commented on his team’s ability to stay calm and play good rugby despite the challenges.
Difficulties are expected in bringing together players from four nations in a short period of time, and problems in restarts, handling errors and a couple of penalties in the scrum will not have pleased Farrell.

“We were not happy with the start of our match,” Farrell said.
Farrell also highlighted the impact of the bench in previous matches and the importance of competition for a place in the team.
The Lions lost scrum-half Tomos Williams for the rest of the tour due to a hamstring injury and now have concerns about fullback Elliot Daly, who was replaced with what appeared to be a wrist injury against the Reds.
The experienced England back-line player has been among the best in the first three matches of his fourth Lions tour and scored two tries against the Force.
