Leinster Crushes Bulls and Conquers their Ninth URC Title

In a demonstration of power, the Irish team Leinster won the final of the United Rugby Championship (URC) by defeating the South African Bulls with a resounding score of 32-7. The match, played in Dublin, marked the obtaining of the ninth title for Leinster, setting a new record in the competition. The rain didn’t stop the home team from playing their game. Jack Conan, Jordie Barrett, and Josh van der Flier were responsible for breaking the opposing defense with their scores, while Fintan Gunne sealed the victory with a try in the final minutes.

For their part, the Bulls, with this defeat, have lost their third final in the last four years. Akker van der Merwe scored the only try for the visitors.

It’s a relief, it’s been a long time to win something. Credit to everyone who has worked in recent years.

Jack Conan, Leinster captain
Conan, who also scored tries in the 2018 and 2021 finals, led his team’s attack from the start. Luke McGrath, a last-minute substitute, contributed a key play that culminated in Barrett’s try. The first half ended with a score of 19-0 in favor of Leinster. Despite the efforts of the Bulls in the second half, who managed to score with a try by Van der Merwe, Leinster maintained control of the match. Bulls coach Jake White acknowledged Leinster’s superiority: “What Leinster does well is that they don’t let you chase the game, they are clinical once they get ahead.”
