Connor Brown Doubtful for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final

EDMONTON, Alberta – Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch said Monday he expected to have Connor Brown for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final against Florida.

Brown, who missed the decisive match of the previous round, could be absent due to illness.

Knoblauch indicated that the 31-year-old player’s participation will be decided shortly before the match.

If Brown is unavailable, it appears Jeff Skinner would keep his place in the team, with Viktor Arvidsson as a possible scratch.

Skinner, who didn’t play in Game 1 of the first round, entered the team in Game 5 of the Western Conference final against the Dallas Stars, scoring a goal in the victory. Skinner, with over 1,000 regular season games under his belt before debuting in the playoffs, has been preparing for this opportunity.

When you get this far, there’s a lot at stake and a lot more excitement and enthusiasm in everything. You’re so close that you want to give your best and that will be exciting.
