Gabe Taylor busca un lugar en los Commanders

Gabe Taylor, younger brother of the late Washington Commanders safety, Sean Taylor, is participating in the Commanders’ rookie camp on a tryout basis.

The Commanders announced their camp roster on Friday.

Taylor, a defensive back who played five seasons at Rice, was not selected in last month’s draft. The agency representing him said that Taylor chose Washington after receiving several offers because he grew up wanting to play for the team.

“Now you have the opportunity to make your mark, forge your own path, compete for a spot on the roster, and honor Sean’s memory,” Creed Sports and Entertainment posted on social media. “Gabe couldn’t be more excited, focused, and ready for the opportunity.”

Sean Taylor died in November 2007 at the age of 24 from a gunshot wound after being shot in the thigh by an intruder at his Miami home. Taylor was the fifth pick in the 2004 draft and played 3 and a half seasons in the NFL with Washington before being murdered.
