Ted Ginn Jr., Former NFL Player, Arrested for DUI

Former NFL wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in Tarrant County, Texas, on Saturday. Ginn, who is currently the coach of the Columbus Aviators of the UFL, was booked on Saturday, according to Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department records, and subsequently released after posting a $1,000 bond. The Euless Police Department told WSYX-TV in Columbus that Ginn was arrested at 12:58 a.m. Saturday and subjected to a sobriety test at the scene.

I made a serious mistake and take full responsibility for my actions. I have always believed in accountability and now it’s my turn to live up to that standard.

Todd Haley took over as coach in Sunday’s game against the Dallas Renegades. “We are aware of an incident involving head coach Ted Ginn Jr. over the weekend and are in the process of gathering more information,” stated UFL President and CEO Russ Brandon. “Offensive coordinator Todd Haley will handle head coaching duties for the Aviators’ game on Sunday.” Ginn played 14 seasons in the NFL with six teams. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in 2007, and also played for the San Francisco 49ers, Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, Arizona Cardinals, and Chicago Bears. Ginn was named coach of the Aviators in December.
