Analysis of Playmakers in the NFL for the 2025 Season
Every summer, at Alofoke Deportes, we delve into the analysis of the NFL to evaluate the key players of each team. We focus on identifying the best playmakers in crucial positions such as running back, wide receiver, and tight end. The objective is to determine which teams have the best combination of offensive talents heading into the season. Playmakers are fundamental, since, as the Eagles team demonstrated in 2024, they can make a difference and dominate rival defenses with spectacular plays.
It is important to clarify that this analysis does not focus on the best offenses in the league, but rather on the teams with the best playmaking units. We seek to separate the performance of running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends from factors such as quarterbacks, offensive lines, and coaches. The key question is: if each team had an average quarterback, offensive line, and coach, which team would have the best offense in 2025? To answer this question, we employ advanced metrics, adjusting factors such as game pace and each player’s opportunities. This allows us to evaluate each player’s performance in every play. For example, a wide receiver has more chances to excel playing with a high-level quarterback and receiving more passes per game. We consider players like Ja’Marr Chase to be superstars, while others, like Andrei Iosivas or Mike Gesicki, require a more detailed analysis. When evaluating and ranking teams, we consider several factors:The focus is on elite players and the top five contributors from each team. Depth is important, but teams prefer to have a star player and some solid players rather than having five average players.

- 2025 Field Performance: We focus exclusively on the projected performance for the upcoming season, setting aside aspects such as contract value and long-term projections.
- Projection based on recent performance: We use players’ recent history and other factors to project their performance. We analyze performance curves, knowing that players in their twenties are more likely to maintain or improve their performance than players in their thirties.
- Analysis of 2025 Draft Picks: We evaluate the historical performance of players selected in similar positions to establish realistic expectations.
- History of injuries and suspensions: We consider each player’s health history to project their performance in the upcoming season. Players with a history of injuries, such as Tee Higgins and Christian McCaffrey, are evaluated with a wider range of outcomes.
- Impact of league investigations: We take into account possible player suspensions, such as Jordan Addison, due to ongoing investigations.
- Valuation of positions: In the current NFL, wide receivers are more valued than running backs and tight ends. Teams tend to prioritize depth at the wide receiver position.
32. Tennessee Titans
The analysis of the Titans’ playmakers reveals a mixed situation. Tony Pollard showed improvements compared to his performance in 2023, but his receiving efficiency did not fully recover. Tyjae Spears had a better success rate, but lacked explosiveness. Hope lies in an improved offensive line and the work of coach Bill Callahan. The receiving group led by quarterback Cam Ward includes veterans like Tyler Lockett and Calvin Ridley. Lockett’s arrival, along with Ridley, brings experience to the team. Van Jefferson could be valuable for his blocking ability, but his yards per route average is low. This group could see significant changes in 2026. Elic Ayomanor, selected in the fourth round, has the potential to compete for a starting position. His performance at Stanford, especially against cornerback Travis Hunter, suggests a promising future.31. Carolina Panthers
The Panthers continue to seek to strengthen their receiving corps. Tetairoa McMillan, selected at pick 8, will seek to emulate the impact that Mike Evans had on the Buccaneers’ offense in 2023. Jalen Coker, an undrafted receiver, could have a greater impact than Xavier Legette. Adam Thielen remains a key piece despite his age. In the backfield, Chuba Hubbard is the primary running back, with Rico Dowdle as a backup. Dowdle has proven to be an average running back in the league.30. New England Patriots
Do you believe in Stefon Diggs? The receiver analysis positions him as a key player. At 31 years old, Diggs could bring significant value to the team. However, the lack of a plan B in the receiver position is concerning.
Mack Hollins and Pop Douglas are complementary players. Kyle Williams, selected in the third round, will bring speed, but he is not a complete receiver. Ja’Lynn Polk had a disappointing rookie season. Rhamondre Stevenson has struggled with efficiency. TreVeyon Henderson could take over the lead running back role as the season progresses.29. Cleveland Browns
Last season, the Browns found success at the receiver position. Jerry Jeudy finally met expectations. Cedric Tillman also showed potential. The arrival of Diontae Johnson strengthens the team. David Njoku couldn’t maintain his 2023 performance. With Nick Chubb’s departure, the Browns will rely on a running back rotation. Jerome Ford averaged 5.4 yards per carry, but was boosted by long plays. Quinshon Judkins could lead the group.
