Attention, American football fanatics! Joe Flacco returns for one more season in the NFL.
The experienced 41-year-old quarterback has reached an agreement for a one-year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals, according to his agent, Joe Linta.
The agreement could reach $9 million with incentives.
Flacco started last season as the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. However, after four starts, he was replaced.
Simultaneously, the Bengals needed a quarterback after Joe Burrow’s injury and Jake Browning’s problems. Cincinnati sent a fifth-round pick from 2026 to the Browns in exchange for Flacco and a sixth-round pick from 2026.
Browning signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers earlier this offseason.
Flacco proved to be a more than valuable player for the Bengals. He played six games as a starter in Burrow’s absence.
In nine appearances with the Bengals, Flacco completed 61.7% of his passes for 1,664 yards, 13 touchdowns, and four interceptions. Despite playing with a shoulder injury, he threw for a personal record of 470 yards.
Flacco was named a replacement in this year’s Pro Bowl Games, marking the first Pro Bowl appearance in his 18-year career. Despite his good performance as a substitute for Cincinnati, Flacco indicated that he wanted to be in a position to start again in 2026.
Selected in the first round by the Baltimore Ravens in 2008, Flacco has thrown for 48,176 yards with 272 touchdown passes and 172 interceptions in his career. In his nineteenth season in the NFL, Flacco has also played for the Denver Broncos, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, and Indianapolis Colts.
