The NBA Finals Logo Returns to the Court!

Good news for basketball fanatics! The iconic Larry O’Brien trophy logo and the distinctive NBA Finals logo will once again adorn center court for the upcoming season, according to sources close to the league. These iconic logos will be painted directly onto the parquet floor, instead of using decals or digital elements. This decision comes after complaints from fans on social media during the past Finals, who expressed their desire for these symbols to return to the court.
The Larry O’Brien trophy logo, which hadn’t been seen on the Finals courts since 2009, will once again be a central element in the basketball spectacle.

I’ve seen some of the conversations on social media about the decals on the court. People don’t realize they disappeared a decade ago because there were claims that some of the players [said] they were slippery when we had the decals on the floor.

Adam Silver, NBA Commissioner
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver acknowledged the debate generated during the Finals and stated that the league would study the possibility of reintroducing the distinctive logos that characterize the most important stage of the NBA. Silver also mentioned that the league had considered the concerns about player safety, as the previous decals were criticized for being slippery. However, he was optimistic about the possibility of finding a solution that allows the return of these iconic elements.
