Naz Reid and Mouhamed Gueye Ejected After Altercation in Game
In a tense encounter, Minnesota Timberwolves center Naz Reid and Atlanta Hawks forward Mouhamed Gueye were ejected on Monday night after an altercation at the start of the fourth quarter.
The incident occurred during the Timberwolves’ victory with a score of 138-116.
The situation unfolded when Gueye appeared to trip Reid. The latter reacted by approaching Gueye, which led to a scuffle between the two players.
Players, coaches, and stadium staff intervened to separate those involved. However, the pushing and shoving continued, and even the Hawks’ center, Jock Landale, fell to the ground during the dispute.
At one point, Reid feinted a punch, but ultimately it didn’t materialize.
Gueye was penalized for a foul during the play, and after a prolonged review, both players were ejected with double technical fouls.
Landale suffered scratches on his neck due to the altercation, but remained in the game.
Reid left the game with seven points and six rebounds, while Minnesota sought to recover after two consecutive losses.
Gueye, for his part, contributed 10 points and seven rebounds off the bench for the Hawks.
