Mavericks center Dereck Lively II out with foot injury
Dallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II will be out for at least the next three games due to an evaluation for swelling and discomfort in his right foot, which was previously operated on. The team made the announcement this Tuesday.
Lively underwent surgery in July to remove bone spurs. Last season, he missed more than two months due to a stress fracture in his right ankle.
In addition, he missed nine games at the beginning of this season due to a sprained right knee, returning to action on November 14.
Lively did not participate in the last two games. The team modified its injury report, changing from “right knee injury management” to “right foot injury management” before Monday’s loss against the Miami Heat.
The Mavericks reported that an estimate of Lively’s recovery time will be provided in approximately seven to ten days.
